Awareness of Dates/Events/Changes

It is the responsibility of the parent, legal guardian or adult student to be aware of all studio activities, such as dress rehearsals, productions, extra classes, and dates the studio is open or closed. This information will be posted at the studio and on the website. It is the parent’s or legal guardian’s responsibility to regularly check this information. It is the responsibility of the parents, legal guardians or adult students to inform the studio of any address, email, or telephone number changes.

Cancellation Policy

We require a one month notice for withdrawal from a class. Withdrawal must be done in person. The parent or legal guardian will be required to complete and sign a withdrawal form available at the studio office. No withdrawals will be accepted after April 1st. All automatic debit/credit card charges will stop after the one-month notice period. Becoming Ballet & Barre Studio reserves the right to terminate any class without notice; in such case, a refund for the missed classes will be given.

Care of Students

The studio is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 5 are to remain at the studio during classes. Students are not to be left at the studio for excessive time before or after class. If a student is left for an excessive time after class and/or at closing time for the evening, the parent will be billed for the time. If the child is left more than once, the student may be dismissed from the class completely. DO NOT EVER ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO ENTER OR EXIT THE BUILDING WITHOUT AN ADULT. Children are not allowed to be outside without supervision.

Dress Code

Required dancewear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes. Failure to wear required dancewear to class could result in students being asked to sit out of the class. Repeated failure to wear required dancewear could result in termination of classes. For safety reasons, dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry, other than stud earrings. Hair must be off of the face for all classes. Please refer to the individual classes dress codes.


Parents, legal guardians of minor students/siblings and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on the studio property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students/siblings before, during or after class time. Becoming Ballet & Barre Studio is not responsible for any damage done to vehicles or items stolen from vehicles.

Lobby/Studio Policy

Families are always welcome in the lobby but please keep in mind that lobby space is limited. Be kind, courteous and respectful by disposing of trash and keep noise volume to a minimum. The lobby is not a play area or a babysitting service, it is for families to have a place to wait while class is in session. The viewing window gives you an opportunity to watch class every so often and see your dancers’ progress. Please feel free to watch class. If you notice students paying more attention to you than the instructor, please move away from the window. You might be a distraction to other students in the class or the teacher. Do not allow siblings to stand on lobby benches. Please make sure siblings are not distracting class. Street shoes are not allowed on the dance floor. Please try to keep siblings out of the studio during classes. Parents are only allowed in the studio during prearranged circumstances.

Photo Release

The studio is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the studio creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the studio to copyright such photographs in its name.

Recital Fees

Spring Recital Fee is $130 per student. For your convenience the fee is divided into two equal payments due November 1st and February 1st. Each additional class is charged a $50 costume fee. All recital fees are non-refundable.

Substitute Teachers

The studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach class. If a teacher is ill and the studio cannot arrange a substitute, any missed classes will be made up.

Tuition Fees

There is a mandatory non-refundable $30 per child or $50 per family registration fee due upon registration. Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month from August to May. The month of August is non-refundable.  If payment is not received before the 5th of the month, the credit card on file is charged the total amount due. Payments received after the 5th are subject to a $25 LATE FEE. To avoid the $25 late fee we recommend enrolling in our auto-pay system. We will draft your credit/debit card the first of each month. Costume fees will also be automatically debited on November 1 and February 1. Payments made in person by cash or check should be payable to Becoming Ballet & Barre Studio and please note the student’s full name on the memo portion of your check. A $25 fee (and any additional court costs if necessary) will be assessed on all returned checks. You are not permitted to carry balances over from month to month.

Weather/Emergency Class Cancellation Policy

If the studio must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be added on to the end of the teaching year or scheduled at another time. No refunds for classes missed due to these reasons will be given.
